Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Attends the 2026 FutureChina Global Forum

From September 24 to 25, 2026, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue attended upon invitation the 2026 FutureChina Global Forum held in Singapore.

Zhai Jun delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum. He noted that the theme of this year’s forum is “Strengthening Resilience, Rebuilding Trust”. At present, changes unseen in a century are accelerating. Geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East are spilling over across the globe and exerting far-reaching impacts on the economic and social development of other regions of the world including Southeast Asia. All countries need to pursue security through consensus and enhance resilience through security. The four-point proposal put forward by President Xi Jinping on promoting common security in the Middle East offers a feasible pathway and sets out the direction of efforts for solving the security challenges in the Middle East. China will continue to uphold the guiding principles of President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal and work together with the international community to support Middle Eastern countries in developing good-neighborly friendships, acting on the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, and fostering a new security architecture in the Middle East. China will also help to build bridges of understanding and trust among various regions, and bring greater stability and certainty to the world.

During the Forum, Zhai Jun had exchanges with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (Trade) Gan Kim Yong, and Chairman Lee Yi Shyan of Business China, the organizer of the Forum. He also attended the Singapore-China Bilateral Relations Forum 2026, held under the theme of “Navigating a New World Order: Advancing Singapore-China Cooperation”, where he exchanged views with participants on the situation in the Middle East and China-Singapore relations.
