DPVR introduces a VR drone training system combining flight practice, assessment and progress tracking to reduce equipment wear and early-stage risks.

NETHERLANDS, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- DPVR, a provider of virtual reality hardware and professional VR solutions, has introduced a drone pilot training system that supports practice from basic manoeuvres to specialised scenarios without requiring frequent use of physical aircraft.

The solution combines a DPVR E4C headset, a professional controller, a computer and DPVR's own training and assessment platform. It moves repetition-intensive tasks into a controlled environment where practice is less dependent on weather, available airspace or the risk of damage to a real drone.

Why move early stage practice into virtual reality
Learning to pilot a drone requires repeated practice until the operator can control the aircraft precisely. In sessions with physical equipment, an error can lead to a crash, damage to the drone and repair or replacement costs. Schools and training centres also depend on suitable weather and authorised places to fly.
DPVR positions the platform as a preparatory and complementary stage before training with physical aircraft. The virtual environment allows students to repeat the same exercise, maintain comparable conditions between sessions and practise situations that are difficult to recreate safely, including forest fires and rescue operations.

An integrated system from control to records
The controller reproduces the arrangement of professional controls and the resistance of their sticks and buttons. The headset provides a first-person perspective, while the computer-based software presents the scenario, records activity and calculates the result of each exercise.
The platform brings control, training, assessment and record keeping into one system. Training centres can therefore deploy a complete station without selecting and integrating the headset, training software and controller separately.

Basic training and professional scenarios
The entry-level modules cover single-axis hovering, precision hovering with all control axes and figure-eight flight around fixed points. Students can repeat these exercises without depending on an available flight area or a specific weather window.
The progression includes figure-eight exercises based on different criteria, simulated tests and instructor assessments. Some modules use references from China's civil aviation sector and should not be interpreted as certification under regulations outside China.
For specialist training, the system includes scenarios involving forest fires, information gathering during disasters and emergency rescue. DPVR also envisages task-specific exercises for electrical infrastructure inspection, agriculture, forestry and logistics.

Repeatable practice with comparable results
By repeating the same virtual course, an instructor can compare performance between attempts and identify manoeuvres that need more work. This repeatability also supports preparation for a simulated assessment before the student moves on to operating a physical drone.

Assessment and learning records
The platform records cumulative training time, completed exercises and assessment results. Instructors can review how much each student has practised, identify operations that cause difficulty and monitor progress by activity.
Records can be stored, searched and managed within the system. Deployments for China can also connect to UOM, a system associated with unmanned aircraft operations, and use real-name registration and identity verification functions.

From a single station to a full training room
A deployment can start with one independent station and expand to a multi-station classroom or a larger industrial training centre. The number of systems can be matched to student volume and the activities planned by each institution.
