Trump Hosts Netanyahu for Private White House Discussions
A White House spokesperson confirmed that the Oval Office meeting has officially started. It remains uncertain whether journalists will be allowed to attend the conclusion of the session or if it will remain entirely off-limits to the press.
Reporters observed Netanyahu’s motorcade earlier as it approached the White House via a nearby heavily secured street.
On Tuesday, Netanyahu held private talks with senior US officials involved in Iran negotiations shortly after arriving in Washington.
Those present in the discussions included special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and informal adviser. Both men play key roles as negotiators in the ongoing dialogue with Iran. They conducted the initial round of talks with Iran last week in Oman.
Earlier on Wednesday, Netanyahu officially joined Trump’s Board of Peace during a private meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio at Blair House, the president’s designated guest residence.
On January 22, delegates from 19 nations signed the Charter of the Board of Peace on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
