Suwayda Tribal Leaders Commit to Ceasefire
In a joint statement, they declared: "Following consultations with all members of Suwayda’s clans and tribes, we have decided to adhere to the ceasefire, prioritize reason and restraint, and allow the state’s authorized institutions the space to carry out their responsibilities in restoring security and stability."
This move, according to the statement, reflects a collective choice to support calm and give official bodies the opportunity to reestablish peace and order.
They further emphasized: "Therefore, we declare that all our fighters have been withdrawn from the city of Suwayda."
The statement was made after comprehensive discussions among the tribal groups and was intended to de-escalate tensions in the region.
Additionally, the tribal leaders delivered a stern warning against any potential violation of the ceasefire terms.
"Should any illegal groups violate the agreement, Syrian clans and tribes will respond firmly," the statement added, underlining their readiness to act decisively in defense of the agreement.
